The University of Louisiana at Monroe Presidential Search Committee selected three finalists on Wednesday after spending several days on campus interviewing semi-finalists.  Nick Bruno, Peter Fos and Thomas Moore will interview in Baton Rouge with the University of Louisiana System Board next week before a new president is selected.  The fourth semi-finalist, J. William Berry, withdrew his candidacy.

This week on The ULM Forum, Jay Curtis gets the perspectives of three people involved with the search:

  • Seth Hall, a graduate student at ULM who gave each candidate his on-campus tour;
  • Malcom Maddox, president of the ULM Foundation and senior vice-president of IberiaBank, who also spoke at Wednesday's meeting;
  • Kathy Spurlock, executive editor of the News Star in Monroe, which has offered extensive print and online coverage of the selection process, including streaming of each candidate's interview with the search committee.

Although a specific schedule and agenda for next week's full meeting of the UL System Board is yet to be finalized, interviews with the finalists will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22.  After public interviews with each finalist are conducted, the Board will deliberate and select the next ULM President.
