The Museum of Natural History at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will see some changes in the coming months. It serves as a scarce extracurricular educational source in Monroe.

This museum contains history from around the world. It also contains the third largest fish collection in the world.

The museum is a part of the State of Louisiana Heroes and Heritage trail, an honor is only given to a few places in the state.

With the renovation of Sandel Hall the museum needed another home. Plans made in Spring of 2012 included moving the collection to Hanna Hall. However, due to the fire in Walker Hall, these plans have been changed for the near future. The final move of the museum to Hanna Hall may not be complete till 2015.

ULM’s Executive Vice President Dr. Stephen Richters said the museum is important to ULM, and hopes the museum will be up and running in a new home in the near future.
