Northeast Louisiana has had six students take their own lives since August 2010. Local officials have since invested in training for teachers, administrators, and school counselors to spot warning signs in students who need help.

KEDM education reporter John Hughes wanted to explore how much of that message was getting through to students. KEDM Public Radio hosted a panel of local high school at studios at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and the results will be broadcast in a special half-hour program Thursday, April 19. “Hope for Tomorrow” will air at 5:00 p.m.
