Governor Bobby Jindal abandoned sweeping tax reform proposals in his opening speech to the state legislature.  The expectation of a hotly-debated item quickly dimmed, and when House lawmakers decided to pass on hearing any tax reform measure this session, the issue quietly left political conversation.  ULM Political Science Professor Dr. John Sutherlin offers some explanation on why the item was abandoned so quickly, and what could lie ahead for tax code proposals.
