A statewide initiative to further the French language appears to be bound by geographical boundaries.  The Council on the Development of French in Louisiana is tasked with providing resources to different schools across the state.  While southwest and Acadiana parishes flourish in French activities and instruction, northern and Florida parishes show little or no participation with the council (CODOFIL).  KEDM's Garret Boyte reports on the mission of the council and how one northeast Louisiana parish has withdrawn from the program.
