Being Better at Teaching Teachers | ULM Forum 11-26-10
Standards may be changing on what it takes to teach a teacher well. The education department at the University of Louisiana at Monroe was recently featured on American Public Media's nationally-broadcast Marketplace radio program for already having made changes in teacher education that raise the performance of first-year teachers.
ULM's Director of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Dorothy Schween examines that report and talks about what it takes for a university program to turn out teachers who are not just prepared, but well prepared for the challenges of a classroom.
Dr. Matthew James, associate dean of the School of Visual & Performing Arts, discusses the university's holiday celebration, Christmas at ULM, in Scott Plaza at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 30.
