KEDM Contest Rules

Eligibility
All contest entries made to KEDM in response to the membership drive, whether by mail, website or telephone, are included in the drawings. The drawings are open to legal residents of the 50 states of the U.S., the District of Columbia, and Canada. Entrants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. All KEDM sustaining members are also automatically included. This contest
is sponsored by KEDM Public Radio, 250 Stubbs Hall, 401 Bayou Drive, Monroe, LA 71209. KEDM paid or volunteer staff, their immediate family, or persons living in the same househould are not eligible. KEDM volunteers may enter if they are not included in the above-named categories. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law.

How to Enter
No purchase or contribution is necessary. You may enter this contest in one of three ways: online at www.kedm.org, by telephone at 318-342-5575 or 800-256-4085; or by mail by sending a 3" x 5" index card to KEDM Public Radio, 250 Stubbs Hall, 401 Bayou Drive, Monroe, LA 71209. Entry must include your full name, complete mailing address, phone number with area code, and an e-mail address. No other method of entry will be accepted. All sustaining members of KEDM, as well as donors during this campaign are automatically entered. Contest begins Saturday, September 27, 2014. Drawings will be held for various prizes at the discretion of KEDM through Friday, October 3, 2014. Limit one entry per household. Incomplete entries are void.

By participating, all participants and winner(s) grant KEDM exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use. All contest entries become the sole property of KEDM.

Selection of Winner(s)
Winner(s) will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received by the deadline dates above. Prize drawing will be conducted by KEDM. Drawing will be conducted within two hours of end of contest. If drawing is held on a weekend, winner(s) will be announced on-air the Monday following the day of the drawing. Winner(s) need not be present to win. Winner(s) will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail within 24 hours of drawing. Every reasonable attempt will be made to award prize. If after every reasonable effort has been exerted (three (3) attempts over 30 days) to award the prize but the potential winner(s) cannot be reached after 30 days from first notification attempt, or the potential winner(s) has refused to accept the prize, or if entrant is found to be ineligible, or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner awarded. KEDM will not notify winners of the time remaining on a prize. It is the responsibility of the winner to claim the prize within the thirty (30) day time frame. All unclaimed prizes after thirty (30) days will automatically be forfeited.

Odds of Winning
Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winners' names, hometowns and likenesses for publicity purposes without additional compensation. Winners will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail.

Limit of Entry
Limit one entry per person for the entire entry period. Multiple entries, if discovered, will be disqualified. By entering, entrants acknowledge compliance with these official rules including all eligibility requirements.KEDM is not responsible for failures in technology such as but not limited
to: technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any website or online service, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, incorrect or
inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, or misdirected entries. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. Proof of emailing and/or mailing does not constitute proof of delivery.

Prizes
Multiple drawings may be held. All prizes are non-transferable. Prize value varies based on prize. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or transferable. All taxes on the prizes, including but not limited to federal, state and local income and sales taxes, and any expense not covered herein (including but not limited to expenses related to the use of the prize) are the responsibility of the winners.

Other Important Points

Participants and winners, by entering, waive and release any and all claims of liability against the University of Louisiana at Monroe, KEDM, their officers, directors, employees and agents from any and all claims, demands, and /or causes of action of any kind, forseen or unforseen, included but not limited to personal injury or financial loss which arises from the receipt or use of any awarded prize. KEDM makes no and disclaims all warranties, guarantees or representations, express or implied, concerning the condition, quality, or merchantability of any prize. KEDM reserves the right to cancel this contest and not award any prize in the event that in its judgment unforeseen developments warrant cancellation.

If the winner is instructed by KEDM or its promotional affiliates to personally pick up a prize, he or she must do so within thirty (30) calendar days of winning. Upon pick-up of prize, proper picture identification (i.e. valid driver’s license or passport) from the winner is required. Prizes must be picked up at the KEDM studios located at 250 Stubbs Hall at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, 401 Bayou Drive, Monroe, LA 71209 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays).

At certain times, winners may be instructed by KEDM or its promotional affiliates to pick up a prize at a separate location (i.e. concert tickets may be picked-up at a will-call window). Upon request, KEDM will provide instructions and pick-up times to winners.

Under unique circumstances, a representative designated by the winner will be allowed to accept the prize. Written authorization from the winner, including the representative’s name, ID and a photocopy of the winner’s valid driver’s license is required.

In the event that a winner voluntarily chooses to not accept a prize, he or she automatically forfeits all claims to that prize. KEDM then has the right, but not the obligation, to award that prize to a contest runner-up. KEDM may substitute another prize of equal value in the event of non-availability of a prize. KEDM is not responsible for any defective prizes.

KEDM contest judges or Station Management will retain sole discretion in matters relating to all KEDM contests. KEDM reserves the right to disqualify anyone if contest rules are not followed, and may amend the rules or discontinue the contest at any time.

For the names of the prize winners, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope before September 27, 2014 to KEDM Drive Drawing Winners' Names, 250 Stubbs Hall, 401 Bayou Drive, Monroe, LA 71209. Winners list will not be available until after May 9, 2014.
