The University of Louisiana at Monroe Black History Month Planning and Diversity Committees, invite the community to participate in a series of educational and entertaining events—from music and the arts to speakers and exhibits—in honor of Black History Month.

All events will take place on campus and are free and open to the public.

“We are excited again to present another slate of outstanding speakers for the 2014 recognition of Black History Month,” said Dr. Wayne Brumfield, vice president for student affairs.

“Many of the speakers are graduates of ULM who have gone on to do outstanding work in education, athletics, arts and music.  Their commitment to coming back and sharing their success with our students, faculty, staff and community provides positive motivation—especially for our students to know that they too can be successful in their chosen field of study. “
